Welcome to Lean 5S Workplace Organization
Continuous Improvement is a Fundamental Principle of Lean
Continuous Improvement means making today a little better than yesterday and,
Making tomorrow a little better than today.
One of the foundation courses in Lean that introduces us to Continuous Improvement is called “Lean 5S”.
Included in “5S” are the five steps to follow to make improvemts to the work area.
Learning to do Continuous Improvement
During this course you will learn to study your work area and learn to identify what is:
Work that you do that the customer values.
Work that must be done, but the customer sees little value in it.
Work that Lean calls “Waste”, that is work that adds no value.
As you eliminate waste, value added work increases.
As you do more “Value Added Work” daily, you will begin to do Continuous Improvement.
